February Luncheon - Issues Impacting Development

Topic: Ms. Elhatton-Lake will be speaking about the Supreme Court of Canada’s recent decision in Annapolis Group Inc. v. Halifax Regional Municipality which articulated the test for constructive taking (de facto expropriation) and what implications that may have here in the Bow Valley.
 

Kathleen Elhatton-Lake is a partner at Shores Jardine LLP practicing in the areas of municipal and administrative law. She has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta as well as before Subdivision and Development Appeal Boards and other administrative tribunals. She is the co-chair of the Canadian Bar Association Municipal Law North section and is the President of the YWCA of Edmonton’s Board of Directors In 2022, Edify Edmonton selected Ms. Elhatton-Lake as one of Edmonton’s “Top 40 under 40”.
