BOWDA and BVCC are collaborating to bring a complementary DEI 101 session to life. A big thank you to our partner Rotary Canmore for making this possible for our members.
DEI 101 What is DEI, anyway, and why is it important in 2023? In this introductory session, we will look at fundamental concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion through a 2SLGBTQ+ lens.
Through exercises and examples, we will start discussion on unconscious bias, privilege, and intersectionality and how they apply to everyday life.
Participants will leave with a common language and a broader understanding of the field of DEI and how it relates to our lives and workplaces. Both sessions are a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where your questions are completely welcome but will deal with potentially triggering topics.
DEI 101 session is facilitated by Aurora Claire Borin of Bow Valley DEI.
