Banff National Park 2017
With free entry to national parks in celebration of Canada 150, Banff National Park has a number of new initiatives and operational changes planned for 2017. Based on more indepth understanding of the increased visitation patterns of recent years, national park managers are focusing communication and on the ground operational efforts to help set realistic visitor expectations, to increase visitor and wildlife safety and to reduce impacts of congestion where it impacts visitor experience. Greg Danchuk, the Banff Field Unit Visitor Experience Manager will review visitation trends and the resulting actions the national park has planned in 2017 to help ensure visitors continue to have outstanding opportunities while conserving the natural resources that are essential to the park's future.
